Born in Sviyazhsk (Tatarstan) in 1951. In 1975 Graduated from music school in Sukhumi as a clarinet player, then graduated from the orchestra department of the Alma-Ata State Conservatoire in 1985. Has taught at the music school No. 9 in St. Petersburg, where he has founded and now directs a youth wind orchestra and gives clarinet classes. From 1991 till present Yevgeny Davydov teaches at the the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy. He has worked with Lev Dodin since 1990. Participated in staging the plays Gaudeamus, Claustrophobia, A Play Without a Title, Life and Fate, Love`s Labour`s Lost. Constant coach for actors' orchestra of the Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe.
