Elena Dmitrakova

Born in Leningrad in 1966. Graduated from the arts high school at the Academy of Arts in 1984 and from the St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy in 1990 as a theatre and cinema staging artist. Member of the Russian Artists' Union, member of the LAVR ART CENTER Arts Association and Mariinsky Theatre Board of Trustees grant-holder. Worked on the following performances:

1991 - The Barber of Seville, Mussorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg; Faust, Opera Theatre, Pori, Finland; 
1992 - Peter the Great, Mussorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg (costumes); The Nutcracker, Russian Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg; Monsegur, Theatre de l'Opera, France; The Marriage of Balzaminov, Musical Comedy Theatre, Sverdlovsk; 
1993 - A Month in the Country, Open Theatre, St. Petersburg (costumes) and The Murder of Gonzago, Open Theatre, St. Petersburg (costumes);
1994 - A Month in the Country, Kachalov Russian Drama Theatre, Kazan (costumes);

2000 - Marriage of Figaro, Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre in Perm; Miss Julie, Maly Drama Theatre, St. Petersburg; The Nutcracker, Moskva Ballet, Moscow. 
2004 - The Love of Don Perlimplin (Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe). 
2006 - The House of Bernarda Alba (Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe).
2008 - The Shadow of a Gunman (Maly Drama Theatre – Theatre of Europe). 
1991-1996 - taught at the directing department of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. 
Elena Dmitrakova has participated in many exhibitions, including St. Petersburg '96, St. Petersburg-Moscow '98, St. Petersburg-Moscow 2000, and as part of the St. Petersburg Artists for Children program. 
One-woman shows: History Museum, Ivangorod, 1997; State History Museum, St. Petersburg, 1996; Comedians' Theatre, 2000. 
Elena Dmitrakova currently works as a chief set designer for the Russian Chamber Ballet Moskva, in Moscow.
