Graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre Music and Cinematography in 1974 (Eduard Kochergin's class). Joined the Russian Artists' Union in 1980. Irina has worked with the best directors and artists in Russia and abroad. She has created costumes for more than 100 performances. The best-known of those are The Flea directed by E. Ratiner at the Irkutsk Young Viewers' Theatre; The Green Bird directed by N. Sheiko at the Alexandrinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg; The Liar directed by Roman Viktyuk at the Academic Comedy Theatre; A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare directed by N. Sheiko at the Russian Drama Theatre in Tallinn; Boris Godunov directed by A. Petrov at the Stara Zagora Theatre in Bulgaria; As You Like It directed by T. Kazakova at Baltiysky Dom; The Government Inspector directed by H. Henriksen at the Oslo National Theatre (Norway); The Gambler directed by L. Stukalov at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre (United States); the opera Queen of Spades directed by A. Galibin at the Mariinsky Theatre; Before Sunset written by G. Hauptman and directed by G. Kozlov at the Tovstonogov Bolshoy Drama Theatre. Irina Cherednikova has been working with the Maly Drama Theatre since 1977. She has created costumes for the performances of Tour of Moscow, The Appointment and Mumu. She regularly participates in international exhibits such as the Prague Quadrennial (1983, 1999) and exhibits in Novi Sad (Yugoslavia). One-woman exhibitions at the Nashe Nasledie editorial office in 1998 and at the St. Petersburg Theatre Museum in 1999.
