Born in Tallinn. Natalya Akimova graduated in 1979 from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre Music and Cinematography, in Katsman and Dodin’s class. In 1979 and 1980 – worked as an actress at the Tomsk Young Viewers’ Theatre. In 1980 she was invited to work at the Bolshoy Drama Theatre named after Gorky. Since 1983 – an actress of the Maly Drama Theatre. A Merited Artist of Russia. In 1986 was awarded the USSR State Prize for the part of Lizaveta in the performance of Brothers and Sisters. Natalya Akimova appears in performance of Brothers and Sisters as Liza, as Polina Andreevna in The Seagull, Tatyana and Ksyushka in Mumu, Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, the woman with child in Chevengur, Markolfa in The Love of Don Perlimplin, Sarytova in Caprice, La Poncia in The House of Bernarda Alba, Mrs Grigson The Shadow Of a Gunman. Has appeared in the films The Wilderness, Long Days in a Short Week, Mirror for a Hero, The House-Spirit and Streets of Broken Lamps.
